Human adrenomedullin is a 52 amino-acid peptide (mw 6029) with the physiological effect of lowering blood pressure through vasodilatation, an effect it shares with calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP). In addition adrenomedullin has other cardiovascular effects including growth and development of both cardiovascular tissues and bone, and has effects in the central nervous system connected with the regulation of fluid balance.

ABS 027-01 binds human adrenomedullin and shows no cross-reaction with CGRP
The epitope of ABS 027-01 lies within residues 22-52.
The ELISA dilution guideline applies to adrenomedullin coated directly at 1.0 g/mL. The binding of ABS 027-01 to this coat is not inhibited by full length adrenomedullin in solution up to a concentration of 1umol/L, but is inhibited by adrenomedullin (22-52) in solution.
